Back in the game baby

Mark tried hard. He really, really did. He took apart the sink so the new counter tops could be installed. He took the old counter tops off so they wouldn't charge him extra. He ripped out the old carpet so the new tile could be laid (which the Floridian Lazane's laid by themselves for the most part). But there comes a time in every one's life where you have to admit defeat. Punishing, agonizing defeat. As Mark went out of town for a business trip to Texas, Sarah arranged for a handy man to come in and "tidy up" some projects Mark was unable to finish. They put the sink back in, fixed a failing toilet, hooked up the ice maker, and even gave quotes for future work. Though painful to pull out the wallet, we are taking comfort in the fact that we can use our sink for the first time since moving in. It is the small victories in life that lead to happiness baby. Meanwhile, Mark has returned from his very nice conference in San Antonio, and whole-heartily recommends it as a great vacation destination. Maybe a long weekend though, since there are a couple really cool things to do, but you can do them in a day. In an update (for all those dying to find out the end result)...we did buy the Grand Am. With the hair, uncanny good looks, and now automobile, Mark is rapidly turning into his father. It drives good, for now, and Sarah promises an upgrade in two years when she gets a "real job." We're thinking something in the $5000 ballpark. Money, baby, money. Mavrik continues to grow rapidly, necessitating the possible purchase of a new car seat sometime soon (it will undoubtedly match the Grand Am if Mark has a say in it). So, with a slightly used Grand Am rollin' the streets of Florida, you can only assume one thing: At some point in the hopefully not-so-near future, there will most likely be a hot young thing holding a baby in a new car seat waving down the AAA tow truck along the Florida coast. Money, baby, money (or a lack of desire to spend a lot of it). How all is well your way. Jose and Stephanie: thanks for the post. We have wireless Internet in the casa now (a router even, not just pirating the neighbor's) so rest easy knowing these blogs should be updated far more rapidly. Love y'all.
